Blodwen has commissioned a range of hand turned traditional cawl (Welsh broth) bowls, lovespoons, ladles and platters from a selection of master wood turners in the area.

These beautiful vessels take hours of work to perfect. The wood is carefully selected, felled during the winter months to ensure a pale, lustrous wood free of blemishes and stains.

It is then seasoned for between 6 months and a year and only then can the slow process of turning and carving begin.

Using a treadle or pole-lathe, operated by the craftsman's foot, the process follows the ancient templates that have been handed down from one generation to another.
